Cheryl.. these are quite lovely.. Questions: How do you prep the shells before actually gluing them to the frames? Bleach to remove the smell?. warm sandy hugs.. Loui♥
Hi Loui, yes I put all my shells in a mixture of bleach and water. Some of these oysters are a little funky when I find them so it is definitely necessary! I just soak them for a few minutes really, and then give them a good rinse. I lay them out to dry and then they are ready to go. Once they are on the frame I spray them with high gloss shine to make them sparkle :)
I am crazy about the beach and shells! I love to make all kinds of things from shells and whatever else I come across on the beach.
Actually, I have a lot of interests including photography, cooking and decorating.
So this blog is a little bit of everything. But if you see anything you like, send me an email at elmorecheryl1@yahoo.com and I will see what I can do for you. You can also visit my etsy store listed below and see what's going on there.
Thanks for stopping by!
